Honestly, Kamla getting a fourth term unopposed really says a lot about the lack of true internal democracy in the UNC

While she's definitely a historic figure, it's concerning that no fresh voices or challengers are emerging—parties need real debate to stay connected to the people. The UNC should be focusing on grassroots organizing and empowering younger, more diverse leadership, not just sticking with the status quo. I hope Kamla uses this mandate to actually push for more progressive policies and address inequality, not just maintain the old guard. Trinidad and Tobago needs bold change, not more of the same old faces at the top.
