The United Nations has reported that more than half of Gaza's agricultural land has been severely damaged, exacerbating the food crisis in the conflict-stricken territory. Satellite imagery analyzed by the UN shows significant degradation of croplands, including the destruction of orchards and greenhouses, vital for the sustenance of Gaza's population. With an estimated 151 square kilometers of agricultural land, accounting for about 41% of Gaza's territory, the damage poses a serious threat to food security and livelihoods in the area.
